What are the temperature limits for downhole batteries?

The electrochemical system of the battery needs to be able to stabilize at these high temperatures.

High temperature lithium batteries are usually categorized into different temperature ratings, including 100°C, 125°C, 150°C, 180°C and 200°C and above. These ratings reflect the maximum operating temperature that the battery can withstand.

In applications such as oil logging, high-temperature lithium batteries need to be able to operate in extreme temperature conditions while maintaining stable performance. These batteries are designed to take into account the effects of high temperatures on battery performance, including the discharge characteristics of the battery, thermal management, and the thermal stability of the battery materials.
